Miss Jones Cafe

Miss Jones Cafe

Brisbane Instagramers have raved about Miss Jones, so I gathered my nearest and dearest and got down there as soon as I could. Friends, I had mixed feelings.

Minimalistic, simply, classy, pastel-tinted. Miss Jones welcomes you through to it's long, narrow eatery that houses enough seats, stools and benches to comfortably seat a little over half a dozen groups. Complete with a communal table that has a neon 'Excuse me Miss' fixed above it, there's so many instagramable shots in the small, simple cafe. But it appeals to your taste buds just as much as it appeals to your feed.

The. Coffee. Is. Great. I was still thinking about it the next day, which has got to be a sign of one of the best coffees I've had. Expensive though for what you get, but delicious nonetheless. With a whole range of milks (I've recently been diagnosed with lactose intolerance, so this is an important aspect now) to choose from, and extremely friendly baristas! Coffee with a smile is the best type of coffee.

The menu, although not extensive, has something for everyone, including gluten free, dairy free, and vegan options. And boy does the menu have some extraordinary combinations. I had the roast pumpkin bruschetta, and it has been a long time since I've tasted something as exciting as that. Roast pumpkin atop a bed of kale, covered with goats cheese feta, balsamic dressing, and a couple of poached eggs on sourdough. So good.

The atmosphere was buzzing. For 11am on a Friday morning, it was extraordinary how many people how packed out this place - I wonder what it's like on a weekend? But a packed out cafe is a sign of a good cafe, so we weren't concerned. We also got our food surprisingly quickly, considering just how packed it was! So if you do decide to visit, don't be put off by the crowds.

I know we're past the point of being 'poor uni students', but I still think that there is a line that must be drawn when it comes to pricing in cafes. Miss Jones charged a little too much. Sure it was delicious, but just maybe a couple dollars too dear. However, that was the only fault I could give this place.

Would recommend if you're in the city/New Farm area! And definitely get the top notch coffee :)
